Sport science in action today
Our ground-breaking Sport Scholarship scheme for elite athletes has enabled some top sporting stars to take advantage of specially tailored fitness and academic programmes, to enable them to study without detracting from their vigorous training regimes. They receive the same sports science expertise that the University already provides to world-renowned senior international athletes and professional teams; graduates include Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle, high jumper Martyn Bernard and 800m runner Michael Rimmer.
