It is difficult to predict what studies will be running in the future. Many studies will involve coming into the University to complete a set of tasks, or for an interview about your opinions/experiences. For other studies, you might simply complete and return a questionnaire online or by post.

Examples of recent psychology research at LJMU:

• a questionnaire study about dietary habits and self-awareness
• a dual-task study of visual attention and memory
• semi-structured interviews about the nature of friendship

LJMU policy is to use shopping vouchers to reimburse research participants for their time and expense. All participants in a particular study will receive the same amount. The amount will vary from study to study and the researcher will be able to inform you about this.

Again, this is difficult to predict as it will depend on how often LJMU staff use the panel.

Yes. All studies will be approved by an appropriate research ethics committee, usually Liverpool John Moores University Research Ethics Committee or its psychology sub-committee.
