Performance Sport Internships
The Performance Sport Department at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) provides hands-on, practical experience through our internship programs, designed to support the next generation of sport and exercise professionals whilst complementing our sport science professional services.
Our two internship streams, strength and conditioning (S&C) and Sports Nutrition, are tailored for final year undergraduate and master's level students, offering valuable real-world experience that helps build skills and improve employability.
Our internships are designed specifically for students on Sport and Exercise Science degree programs.
We offer two levels:
- The Junior Internship, available to final-year undergraduates on Sport and Exercise Science (BSc) as part of their placement module.
- The Senior Internship, open to postgraduate Sport and Exercise Science degrees (MSc).
These internships offer the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge, gain practical experience, and prepare for a successful career in the sports industry.
"The strength of LJMU’s internship programme lies in the success of its participants, with 95% securing employment in sports and exercise science or progressing to further education within 12 months."

Performance Sports Science Coordinator and Head of Strength and Conditioning
