International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism
Liverpool John Moores University has adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance working definition of antisemitism as part of our university approach to anti-discrimination in all of its manifestations.
“Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”
At LJMU we defend the right to freedom of speech and encourage debate within respectful arenas. We have an overarching Respect Always agenda, developed and driven by students and staff, to ensure that everyone who studies or works at the university feels respected and commits to respect others.
We have a proud history of inclusivity and work hard to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable and accepted.
