I have over 20 years experience across both community and clinical exercise provision as a rehabilitation practitioner within the NHS, various local authorities and the private sector. I have led projects responsible for the creation and implementation of PA interventions addressing non-communicable diseases and health behaviours. Practically, I have qualifications that allow me to work within remits such as cardiac rehabilitation phases three (clinical) and four (community), pulmonary rehabilitation, neurological disorders, metabolic disease, cancer and low back pain. I have high levels of experience in working within multi-disciplinary teams across health promotion, including the design and delivery of specific initiatives focusing on NHS devised KPIs. An example of an initiative I implemented was the formation of phase IV pulmonary disease programme in Warrington for which I led the project in conjunction with the respiratory physio team, one of the 1st such programmes in the UK working alongside the British Lung Foundation.

Academically, I begin as a mature student in 2014 focusing on Sport, physical activity and health. I then moved into a public health postgraduate degree in 2017-18 and a PhD in 2020-23 which focused on clinical exercise provision in the UK. This research identified the current exercise pathways across cardiac, respiratory, cancer, falls and stroke, alongside large volumes of recommendations concerning best practice service design and implementation for new and current service and education providers.
