At LJMU, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to access higher education and outreach events aim to inspire students and support them in making informed decisions about their future.
We offer a range of engaging activities designed to inspire students when it comes to their university options. These include subject taster sessions, campus visits and free residentials. These interactions provide hands-on experiences to help students make the right choice for them.

Our taster days offer sixth form and FE college students the opportunity to learn more about their subject of interest, view our fantastic facilities and engage with academic staff and current students.

Interactive sessions are based around personal statement support for sixth form students, practising psychometric testing questions we use in our selection process, interview tips and practise at our clinical simulation suites.

Product Design Engineering show

Come along and meet staff and students from the Product Design Engineering Course. Find out about uni life, the course, placements and career opportunities. School groups and individual students are welcome, but booking is required.
Student visit invitation
In conjunction with the Product Design Engineering Show, we are delighted to invite school and college students to visit Liverpool John Moores University. This visit is a great chance to experience university life and learn what Product Design Engineering is all about. Throughout the day, you can explore a variety of student projects and final-year work that show creativity, technical ability, and innovative problem-solving. The displays include practical design solutions, prototypes, and development work that demonstrate how ideas grow from early concepts to finished products. Staff and current students will be available to talk about:
- the structure and content of the course
- entry requirements and application guidance
- facilities and workshops
- placement opportunities, industry links and career pathways
- what it is like to study and live as a university student
The visit is relaxed and informative, giving students plenty of time to ask questions, explore the exhibition, and get a clear idea of university life and future career options.

Physical Education Programme (BSc) Taster Day

We are delighted to invite Year 12 PE and Sport students to attend our upcoming Physical Education (BSc) Programme Taster Day.
This engaging and practical event is designed to give students an insight into studying Physical Education within the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences at LJMU. Led by our expert academics and specialists, students will take part in a range of practical sessions where they can apply their learning across different sport and physical activity contexts. This experience is intended to give students a genuine feel for what it is like to study on the programme.
In addition, students will:
- tour our excellent sports facilities
- meet our passionate PE lecturers and academic staff
- connect with current students and hear first-hand about student life
- explore progression opportunities, particularly for those considering a career in teaching
This taster day offers an exciting opportunity for students to deepen their interest in the subject and explore their future study options in a supportive and dynamic environment. We have a proud legacy of excellence in Teacher Training, celebrating 125 years of IM Marsh, which supports our continued commitment to developing educators of the future.

Football Science Taster Day

Join us on Tuesday 16 June at our Liverpool campus for an exciting day of Football Science led by internationally recognised academics and industry experts.
Kick off the morning with hands-on practical sessions using the latest performance technology to explore the physical, tactical, and technical sides of the game. After lunch, hear directly from LJMU students and top-level practitioners about what it’s really like to work in the football industry.
This event is the perfect chance to experience Football Science in action, discover career pathways in the sport, and get a taste of student life on our vibrant campus.
