Prof. Lutfun Nahar is an Adjunct Professor at Liverpool John Moores University and is affiliated with both the Czech Academy of Sciences and Palacky University (https://lgr.upol.cz/lide/nahar/). She is also a Distinguished Adjunct Professor at Saveetha University and serves as a Visiting Professor at Mae Fah Luang University. Prof. Nahar is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is globally recognized as an extensively cited Medicinal Natural Products Chemist.

She holds a degree in Chemistry from Exeter University, a renowned Russell Group institution, and earned her PhD in Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry from Aberdeen University, which has a rich history spanning 530 years. Both universities are world-class. Since 2021, she has been ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide. Recently, she was honoured with the PIFI Visiting Scientist Award (2024-2025) from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is the Treasurer and a Trustee of the Phytochemical Society of Europe (2024-2030).

Prof. Nahar is a distinguished Organic Medicinal Chemist with significant contributions to the field of Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry. Her scholarly output includes 575 peer-reviewed publications, invited reviews, conference abstracts, books, book chapters, and an innovation patent, demonstrating her extensive research capabilities and influence. Her scholarly impact is reflected in her extensive Google Scholar citations of over 18,900, h-index: 64, and i10-index: 324; Scopus h-index: 47; ResearchGate h-index: 56 and over 6,000 followers on LinkedIn. She has co-authored 12 books, 52 book chapters, and 65 reviews.

Prof. Nahar’s notable books include “Natural Products Isolation” (3rd edition, Springer-Nature, 2012), “Computational Phytochemistry” (1st and 2nd editions, Elsevier Limited, 2018 & 2024 ), "Chemistry for Pharmacy Students: General, Organic and Natural Product Chemistry" (1st and 2nd editions, Wiley & Sons, 2012 & 2019) ), which was translated into Indonesian, Japanese, Greek and Portuguese languages, and the first-ever book in steroid dimers, "Steroid Dimers: Chemistry & Applications in Drug Design & Delivery" (Wiley & Sons, 2012).

Prof. Nahar plays an integral role in the scientific community through her editorial contributions. She is the Editor in Chief of "Journal of Medicinal Natural Products", Associate Editor of Bioactives and serves as the Section Editor of Biomolecules (Natural and Bio-inspired Molecules). She is also an editor for the Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Diversity, Open Chemistry, Journal of Chemistry, ISRN Chromatography, and Journal of Natural Products Discovery. She also serves on the editorial boards of 18 international journals, and reviewer for 30 international journals in Medicinal Natural Products Chemistry.

Prof. Nahar’s contributions to the field have been recognized with several honours. She was appointed a member of the Macau China Ethnic Medicinal Industry Association in 2018 and joined the European Science Foundation College of Expert Reviewers in 2020. Her scientific profile has been featured in the Marquis "Who’s Who in the World" since 2009 and "Who's Who in Science and Engineering" since 2010. Through her research, publications, and editorial work, she has earned a prominent place in the scientific community, impacting both academia and industry.
