I was born in Greece, but I live in the UK since 2010. I have joined the School of Computer Science and Mathematics as a Lecturer (Software Engineering) in 2022. Previously, I have worked as a Research Fellow at the Computer Science Department, University of York on different EU and UK funded projects. Before moving to the UK for my MSc in Software Engineering I attended a 4-yr BSc course in Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia in Greece.

My research is related to a broad area of systems and software engineering. My main line of research, with more than 10 years of experience is on Model-Driven Engineering (MDE). My first exposure to MDE was through my EngD project titled “Type Inference in Flexible Model-driven Engineering” where I applied different machine learning approaches to classify untyped elements in models. In the different projects I have worked I had the opportunity to explore other domains including distributed processing and big data analytics (TYPHON EU-H2020 project), safety assurance for critical systems (SECT-AIR Innovate-UK project) and robotics (SESAME EU-H2020 project). My research interests revolve around Model-Driven Engineering in general (and how its principles can be applied to other domains), systems safety assurance, robotics, and big-data analytics. Very recently, I have started exploring the possibilities of applying my knowledge on MDE and distributed-parallel processing in sports science.

In my personal life, I like watching football (a lot), cooking and spending time with people discussing about any topic that arises. I am a big fan of Liverpool FC.
