Support for charity partner Claire House through the Mowgli Dog Show 2025
In support of our charity partner Claire House Children’s Hospice, the university is sponsoring the Mowgli Dog Show 2025 – an annual fundraiser developed by our Chancellor Nisha Katona which supports the vital work of the hospice in the Liverpool City Region.
For the first time, LJMU will have a stand at the event, providing an important opportunity to show support for the hospice and for the university to introduce new audiences to higher education.
A small organising group has assembled to plan for our presence at the show, led by Corporate Communications and including staff from the Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science, the Student Recruitment Outreach team, and with input from Research and Innovation Services. A third-year graphic design student is working alongside the in-house design team to devise a bespoke brand for the show and students from journalism have been commissioned to cover the event alongside the Mowgli team.
Send us your ideas
While preparations are already underway to showcase the best of LJMU’s courses and research, we are still on the lookout for more contributors to support the weekend of activities – taking place during the show on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June at Claremont Farm on the Wirral.
Does your research relate to our four-legged friends? Have you got an activity that could engage families and their pet pooches? Please get in touch via email with Colette Quail sharing a synopsis of your idea, explaining how this relates to the canine theme while showcasing the best of LJMU, along with confirmation of your availability to be present at the show.
Ideas and suggestions will be reviewed and progressed by the organising group over the coming weeks, and we would ask for submissions to be made by no later than 5pm on Friday 28 March.
Ticket information
While we can’t accommodate every idea or suggestion at our stand over the weekend, we would encourage everyone at LJMU to support Claire House by attending the event.
Tickets are available to buy online through the Mowgli Trust - £10 each per day and under 3’s go free, and of course your dogs are invited along too!
Every penny of profit raised over the weekend goes to Claire House Children’s Hospice helping seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. Over ₤106,000 was raised during last year’s event.
