New brand campaign goes live across campus

LJMU is a remarkable university that raises people up, champions change and puts students at the heart of everything we do. To tell our story and share our achievements, we are delivering a new corporate marketing brand campaign throughout 2025.

New visuals around campus

Staff may have seen the start of LJMU’s vibrant new brand campaign going live across campus this week. New artwork on the hoardings is being installed outside the Student Life Building with further artwork going live on digital screens and around the city later this month.

The new narrative incorporates staff, students and alumni sharing their passion, purpose and proudest moments with the university, alongside key achievements and statistics from across LJMU.

The campaign has been built on extensive research, insights and survey data gained over the past 10 months and tested with prospective and current student focus groups to ensure messages and visuals align with this key audience.

New corporate messaging on our key achievements and impact

As part of the brand campaign and the new look and feel of corporate marketing, new core messaging on how to tell LJMU's story achievements and impact is available on the About Us section of the LJMU website.

The key achievements and impact are divided into messaging across seven different categories including:

  • Driving growth
  • World-leading activity
  • Collaborations and partnerships
  • Innovation
  • Employment and skills
  • Social impact
  • Social responsibility

Stats on student, staff and partner numbers are also available via the site, which will be refreshed and updated on a regular basis.

This page is public facing but available for staff to use as an internal and external engagement tool when collating key messaging and stats which illustrate LJMU’s impact.

Brand campaign: what’s next?

The roll-out of the new artwork and messaging begins this March 2025, with LJMU’s first brand awareness campaign launched at the end of the month around the Liverpool City Region.

The billboard campaign will go live in high foot fall areas and share LJMU’s pride in our students. The messaging will coincide with March graduation dates when thousands of students and their families arrive in the city to attend graduation.

As 2025 continues, keep a look-out for further campaigns around the city to coincide with key student recruitment dates and city-wide events such as Radio 1’s Big Weekend and the British Science Festival in Liverpool.
