New student ID card delivery and collections for January 2025 starters

If you’re starting your studies with us in early 2025, have you uploaded a photo for your student ID card yet? You’ll need to do this as part of your online student registration.

UK student ID cards

If you complete your registration before midnight on Wednesday 18 December 2024 your student ID card will be automatically printed and dispatched to your home address via first-class mail.

If you complete registration after Wednesday 18 December 2024, you will need to collect your student ID card at one of our pop-up card collection hubs on campus in January 2025.

Card collection opens Monday 6 January until Monday 27 January 2025, 8.30am to 4pm, weekdays only at the following LJMU building reception desks: Tithebarn Building and Student Life Building.

International student ID cards

Student ID cards will be available for collection as part of the International Welcome Event on Monday 13 January 2025, from 9.30am to 4pm in the Student Life Building.

After this date, student ID cards can be collected from the LJMU reception in Exchange Station, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4pm.

Student ID cards will only be available for international students if all registration criteria have been met.

No card, no access

It's compulsory to bring your ID on to campus, you'll need it to access all of our buildings and lecture theatres and to use our facilities, so make sure to keep it on you at all times.

You won't be granted access without it.

Plus, you can use your student ID card to get 20% off at all Core Cafes on campus.

Returning students what to do if you have lost or misplaced your student ID card

Students returning to LJMU without their student ID card will need to be issued with a new one. This must be done ahead of trying to access any buildings on campus, attending university lectures or using any services.

First you need to request a new student ID card using the ‘request ID card replacement’ form on My LJMU. We’ll then send you a confirmation text to let you know that your new ID is ready for collection.

Replacement student IDs can be collected anytime from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, in either the Aldham Robarts or Avril Robarts Library.
