Dr Noof Bin Hasan

My academic journey at LJMU within the MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice began in 2020. I am experienced in providing Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy to individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds. My current clinical practice involves working with children, young people and their families up to the age of 25 and, in my current role, working with primary school-aged children within a CAMHS partnership. I am also experienced in supervising trainee counsellors and psychotherapists on placement.

My research interests revolve around the perceptions of accessing counselling among non-western cultures and the social stigma associated with accessing counselling support. This also includes gaining insights into the barriers experienced by seldom-heard individuals in accessing counselling support. I completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) research at the University of Chester for a programme of the study entitled: An exploration of the helpful and hindering aspects of counselling and psychotherapy with Middle Eastern clients in England.
