I am an experienced mental health professional with an extensive background in academia, heath care leadership / management and clinical practice. I re-joined the academic team at Liverpool John Moores University in 2020 after working in Leadership roles in the NHS for the previous 6 years.
I am the Programme Leader for the Nursing Associate programme (Apprenticeship and Direct Entry routes) that commenced in September 2024. I teach on both the pre-registration and post-registration programmes. My teaching interests include mental health, leadership, co-production, service user engagement, suicide prevention, innovation, quality improvement and psychological therapies.
As a nurse academic, my role is to support students from the beginning of their professional career. It is highly rewarding to guide students through their educational journey, witnessing their growth and helping them develop their skills and confidence needed to provide compassionate, high-quality care.
