I am a contributor to the Man Hug: A monthly men's mental health Podcast.

I have worked in the NHS for over 20 years. I have worked as a Cardiac Specialist Nurse based in A&E for 12 years and previously worked within several NHS trusts in Cheshire and Merseyside. I continue to teach in practice as an Advanced Life Support Instructor.

I completed a Master of Education and attained Fellowship with The Higher Education Academy. I have taught in Higher Education for the past 14 years. I joined Liverpool John Moores University in January 2020 as a Senior Lecturer. I teach on the pre-registration nursing BSc and I am also part of the Advanced Practice team and the Non-Medical Prescribing team.

I am chair of a local charity Moving on with Life and Learning (MOWLL) which is a Liverpool grown organisation dedicated to the rights and social inclusion of self-advocates with Learning Disabilities, enduring mental health issues and acquired disabilities. Our mission is to provide the best person focused service to ensure individuals develop socially, personally and professionally.
