I am an adult nurse with experience of working in the NHS and voluntary sector. I have worked as a practice educator in the voluntary sector supporting staff with education and training to promote quality care. I have manged a hospice as the registered manager and clinical lead being responsible for the delivery of excellent care, compliance with standards and managing a number of staff from different disciplines.
I have been engaged in teaching for many years, supporting staff and students to develop their knowledge and skills. I am passionate about teaching the next generations of nurses, inspiring them to be realise their dreams and deliver excellent care for patients and families.

I have an MSc in Health and Social Care and my dissertation included primary research exploring the experience of students undertaking a foundation degree. developing understanding of how students are supported is key to enabling them to learn, develop and grow. To this end I continue to engage with projects in the university that explore how students can be supported.

Key areas of teaching include palliative and end of life care.
