Introducing our Open Journal Checker

Researchers at LJMU said that they wanted a list of journals covered by our Institutional Open Access Agreements.

We're pleased to share that you can now search through all journals in one place using our Open Journal Checker, to quickly see whether the cost of open access publication is covered or available at a reduced rate.

To undertake your search simply follow these steps:

Go to our Open Journal Checker
Type in the journal title, publisher, or ISSN – if you’re not sure exactly which journal to search for you can also search by subject and if you get a ‘Journal not found’ message this means that it is not included in our agreements
Get an instant decision about who pays - select the arrow next to the icon in the ‘Who pays column’ to access the full terms of the agreement

Before submitting to any journal, it is advised that you carefully read through the full terms of the agreement as some publishers exclude specific research item types. The journal can also levy additional charges such as page and colour charges in addition to open access charges. These charges are not covered by our agreements, and be sure to come back to Open Journal checker before you submit again as journals can change publisher or model.
