Guidance for programme and module amendments 26/27

The 2026/27 guidance for programme and module amendments has now been published and is available on the Academic Quality webpage.

Key updates in this year's guidance include changes to the approach taken to amendment timescales. The university has moved away from specific deadlines for most programme and module amendments, adopting a more principles-based approach. The only exception relates to the addition or removal of option modules, which will continue to be subject to a defined deadline.

The updated guidance also includes enhanced information on student consultation, consent and communication. These revisions provide greater clarity on how students should be engaged and informed when changes are proposed.

Colleagues are encouraged to take some time to review the updated guidance and familiarise themselves with the changes introduced for 2026/27.
