LJMU billboard campaign 2025 goes live across Merseyside

The university’s new vibrant billboard campaign has launched across Liverpool and the wider city region.

From Merseyrail stations and Liverpool ONE, to key commuter routes in and around the city, the exciting new corporate marketing campaign showcases LJMU’s pride in our students alongside key achievements and statistics from across the university.

Telling the story of our university

The current artwork aims to convey the story of our university and how being a student here is about being a part of something bigger. It’s a journey defined by passion, purpose, and the pride of our students achieving their fullest potential.

Natalie Webster, Rio Boothe, Cecilia Ashley, Shaye Booysen, Shabab Belal and William Redhead, who are current LJMU students from a range of subject areas and course levels have taken part in the campaign photography, with the images being used across various LJMU corporate and recruitment materials, including the new LJMU 2025/2026 prospectus and university signage.

The billboards launched the week of LJMU’s spring graduations, when thousands of students and their families arrived in the city to attend graduation. Further stages of the campaign will continue to roll out throughout 2025 to coincide with key student recruitment dates and city-wide events, such as Radio 1’s Big Weekend and the British Science Festival in Liverpool. Visit LJMU’s LinkedIn page (opens in a new tab) to see more images.

The campaign has been built on extensive research, insights and survey data gained over the past year and tested with prospective and current student focus groups to ensure messages and visuals align with this key audience.

New corporate messaging on our key achievements and impact

As part of the brand campaign and the new look and feel of corporate marketing, new core messaging on how to tell LJMU's story achievements and impact is available on the About Us section of the LJMU website.

Stats on student, staff and partner numbers are also available via the site, which will be refreshed and updated on a regular basis.

This page is public facing but available to use as an internal and external engagement tool when collating key messaging and stats which illustrate LJMU’s impact.
