Stephen is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at Liverpool John Moores University, where he is part of the team teaching on the Education and Primary Studies programme.

Stephen has held several senior leadership posts across the North West of England, including headship. Stephen has also been a Staff Governor in a large secondary school. Previously Stephen has been a lecturer in higher education delivering on undergraduate and postgraduate education and teacher training programmes.

Stephen holds an MA degree in Education and has research interests in leadership, social justice and policy.
