Alexander Holevo

  • In 1943, Holevo was born within the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in what is now Russia.
  • He is renowned for his work on the statistical the foundations of quantum theory and quantum computation.
  • In 1973, he published Holevo‚Äôs bound, a theorem that established the upper limit to the amount of classical information that could be extracted from a given ensemble of quantum states.
  • Between 1992 to 2008, he received prizes for his scientific achievements from the Russian Academy of Sciences.
