Sud Sudirman received the BEng degree (with First Class Honours) in Automatic Control and Systems Engineering from University of Sheffield in 1998 where he was also awarded two prizes for the best project and best student. He worked as a research assistant and sessional/part time lecturer in University of Derby and University of Leeds until 2000. He completed his doctoral degree from University of Nottingham in 2003 with thesis entitled “Colour Image Coding, Indexing and Retrieval using Binary Space Partitioning Tree”.

Sud joined Liverpool John Moores University in 2002 as an academic member of staff in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences. Sud is responsible for delivering a number of modules at all levels of Bachelor and Master Degree programmes. His teaching interests include Computer Game Technology and Programming, Computer Graphics Programming, Computer Animation, Game Console Programming and Artificial Intelligence.

In 2004, Sud was appointed as an academic programme leader for BSc Computer Games Technology course until June 2015, and later for also BSc Computer Animation and Visualisation course until August 2011. His duties include overseeing the overall teaching and learning process within the programmes, planning the development of the programmes, and acting as a liaison between the school and relevant industries.

Sud has also been appointed as an external examiner to oversee academic programmes on other academic institutions including Lancaster University, Accrington & Rossendale College, and West Cheshire College.

His research interests include Image Analysis, Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Computer Graphics. He is a member of technical committee for several regional and international conferences and has reviewed a number of scientific papers for conferences and journals since 2003.
