Dr. Fares Yousefi is a Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity at the Liverpool John Moores University, with a strong academic and research background in Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technologies. Holding a PhD in Computer Science from Liverpool John Moores University, Dr. Yousefi specialized in biometric authentication using brain signals, pioneering innovative research in brain-based security systems.
With over seven years of experience in academia and industry, Dr. Yousefi has made significant contributions to the fields of cybersecurity and Brain-based authentication methods. Their research has been published in top-tier journals, including Computers & Security and Neural Computing and Applications. Their work on EEG-based authentication and cryptography has been recognized with multiple awards, including the PVC’s Award for the Best PhD Thesis and the Outstanding MSc Project Award.
Beyond research, Dr. Yousefi is an experienced educator, developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate modules on Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain. They are a Fellow of AdvanceHE, demonstrating their commitment to excellence in higher education and student engagement.
Dr. Yousefi actively participates in interdisciplinary projects, exploring new frontiers in cybersecurity, AI, and brain-computer interaction. They have also collaborated with industry professionals, government bodies, and academic institutions to enhance cybersecurity education and research.
