I am a professionally qualified Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and a full member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM). I hold a PhD focused on Construction Risk Management in SMEs in the UK. As a post-doctoral researcher, I collaborated with the RimaCon Project under the Horizon 2020 – Research and Innovation – EU initiative to design and develop risk management software for construction SMEs. Additionally, I have secured a 20-year patent for a composite ceiling invention designed for steel and concrete structures in earthquake-prone areas.
With extensive experience in Construction Project Management, I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Before entering academia, I worked as a Senior Project Manager in the Oil and Gas Construction industry in the Middle East, where I managed multi-million-pound projects and developed leadership capabilities essential for project success.
During my time at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), I have taught across all levels and subject areas, specialising in Building Information Modelling, Construction Technology, and Project Management. My academic career includes positions at various universities in England and Scotland, as well as experience as an External Examiner for other higher education institutions. Furthermore, I am a quality reviewer for IPMA qualifications and a panel member for accreditation processes that evaluate and accredit institutions both in the UK and internationally.
